Clinton Todd Joins Karnopp Petersen Roster

Karnopp Petersen LLP has added a new attorney, Clinton L. Todd, to represent the firm in areas of general business, corporate finance, and trademark, copyright and licensing. Todd’s current practice also focuses on renewable energy, hydroelectric, energy infrastructure and other complex development projects.

After interviewing many qualified applicants, we hired Clint on a contract basis to assist us in a very complex financial transaction that resulted in substantial savings to the client,” said Bill Buchanan of Karnopp Petersen LLP. “We were so impressed by Clint’s judgment and performance that we asked him to join us permanently. He continues to prove himself as a gifted and pragmatic advisor, and we look forward to introducing Clint and his family to the community.”

Previous to joining Karnopp Petersen LLP, Todd practiced in San Francisco, where he represented clients in matters involving breach of contract, antitrust, unfair competition, intellectual property, and general business and real estate matters. He is licensed to practice in Idaho and California, as well as Oregon.

Todd earned his J.D. from Northwestern School of Law of Lewis and Clark College in 2000, where he completed a Certificate in Business Law, served on the Law Review Editorial Board of the Law Journal of Northwestern School of Law, and was a Pro Bono Honors Award Recipient. He received an undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Wyoming in 1995.

Prior to law school, Todd served as a Legislative Aid in the Office of Senator Max Baucus in Washington, D.C. His other experience includes serving as an extern for Justice Sue Leeson at the Oregon Supreme Court and clerking at the Oregon Court of Appeals for the Honorable Rives Kistler (currently Justice Kistler of the Oregon Supreme Court).

Karnopp Petersen LLP and Bend are both great fits for Todd, who spent a part of his childhood in Burns, and he is happy to return to Central Oregon. Todd now spends his free time learning about alternative energy, and mountain biking and skiing the local terrain.
