John Ogan Presents at the Hydropower Conference in Portland
Karnopp Petersen attorney John Ogen was a panelist at the Northwest Hydropower Association Conference's Panel entitled "Federal Hydropower System - The New Era of Implementation" on February 16th.
John Ogen, an attorney with Karnopp Petersen in Bend, presented at the Northwest Hydroelectric Association's 2010 Annual Conference "Hydro: Powering the Energy Revolution" held in Portland, February 16-18, 2010. Ogen served on a panel discussing the development and implementation of National Marine Fisheries Service's 2008 biological opinion for the operation of the Federal Columbia River Power System (FCRPS) and how this marks a new era of cooperation and adaptive management. The Regional Implementation Forum, which includes representatives from federal action agencies, tribes and state, works to ensure FCRPS operating and system configuration recommendations benefit salmon and steelhead. Additionally, Ogen is entering his second year of co-chairing the Seminars International CLE in Seattle on "Fisheries and Hatcheries."
