Unraveling Central Oregon’s Higher Education Debate

Too often Central Oregon’s higher education debate is entangled in what we can’t do rather than what we can do. We lack funding. We lack public power and have a relatively small population base.

Rather than waiting for State of Federal solutions, we need to focus on what Central Oregon can do to assume more control over its higher education resources. In an effort to shift the direction of the conversation, we’ve gathered national and regional experts to showcase proven, creative case studies that have invigorated rural communities like Central Oregon.

Learn how we can promote higher education while aligning business and institutional goals for job creation, educational excellence and business retention.

We will ask the questions:

  • What do companies and workers need to flourish in an economy driven by production, innovation and entrepreneurship?
  • What are the market gaps in providing applied innovation or worker training?
  • How can local actions galvanize the talents of what Central Oregon has to offer while providing more of what it needs?

Join us on May 18th at the Tower Theatre for this thoughtful discussion designed to inspire and motivate change.
